DPW Amsterdam took place on 8 and 9 October in the iconic Beurs van Berlage. This international conference has grown into an essential meeting place for procurement and supply chain professionals. ISPnext was once again present as a proud sponsor and exhibitor. For two days the future of procurement technology took centre stage, from AI to sustainability and leadership. DPW offered plenty of inspiration, fresh insights and valuable encounters with peers from the Netherlands and abroad.
“These innovations show how we apply AI with an eye for control, compliance and ease of use.”
This year’s central theme “Put AI to Work” was tangible in every session, pitch and panel. From the Google DeepMind keynote to the conversation with Paul Polman on leadership in a time of disruption, AI was everywhere. According to John Schouten, agentic AI keeps maturing. Not as hype, but as a concrete addition to strategic decision making. “We are moving towards a time in which procurement professionals do not just use AI, but genuinely collaborate with agents that think along and adjust course.” The presentations on data driven decision making and sustainable supply chains showed how technology contributes to smarter, faster and more resilient procurement strategies.
During the session “Agentic AI: Moving Beyond Pilots to Enterprise Impact” speakers shared how companies apply AI at scale within Source-to-Pay. Siemens Energy and Danone showed how AI predicts and manages risks in the supply chain. The common thread was that AI only becomes valuable when it strengthens human expertise. John stressed that this collaboration makes processes more reliable and adds strategic power.
Visitors to our stand got an exclusive preview of three new add-ons within the ISPnext Source-to-Pay platform. We introduced Procurement Team Management, a solution that maps responsibilities within procurement teams clearly. We also presented nextAI in Contract Management, which automatically flags risks in contract texts, and nextAI in AP Automation, which drastically reduces manual invoice processing. “These innovations show how we apply AI with an eye for control, compliance and ease of use,” says John. “Not just smart, but reliable too.”
Another recurring topic at DPW was the strategic use of data. In several sessions Spend Analytics was named as the key to better decision making. Whether the subject was CO2 reduction, compliance or supplier management, insight into spend makes the difference. John summed it up neatly: “It is not only about what is happening, but about why it is happening and what you need to do right now.”
DPW 2025 offered plenty of food for thought on the direction procurement is taking. For ISPnext it was valuable to exchange ideas with other experts and to show how our platform contributes to current themes such as AI, compliance and sustainability.
